I recently stayed at Sorrel River Ranch, and while the location is absolutely breathtaking with stunning views and plenty of outdoor activities, I found the overall experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The service varied significantly, with some staff members going above and beyond while others were less accommodating. Dining options were limited and the food did not meet my expectations, but the accommodations were clean and the activities offered were fantastic. Overall, it's a beautiful spot with room for improvement.

Our stay at the hotel was truly memorable, boasting spectacular views and a serene atmosphere by the Colorado River. The large, rustic rooms were a delight, but the service varied, with some staff being very helpful while others lacked knowledge. While the on-site dining was surprisingly excellent, the price does not match the room quality, as they could use some upgrades. Overall, the location is stunning and close to major attractions, making it a great getaway despite a few shortcomings.

6.4/10

My stay at Sorrel Ranch was quite the mix of beauty and disappointment. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views and a lovely landscape, but the cabins need major updates, and the septic issue was a huge downside. Dining at the restaurant was excellent, and the staff made the most of a challenging situation. Overall, if you're looking for a high-end experience, this place has potential, but it feels more like a mid-range option right now.

Rooms
5.0
The cabins were in dire need of renovations, with damaged woodwork and an old kitchen. It felt pretty grubby for the price we paid.
Service
6.0
While the staff was personable and accommodating, I felt like there was a lack of professional management. It seemed like seasonal employees were left to handle everything.
Location
8.0
The property is absolutely beautiful, located 30 minutes from Moab with stunning views of the red rock mesas, but it is quite remote.
Dining
9.0
The restaurant serves fantastic food with decent service. It was definitely a highlight of the stay.
Facilities

While the grounds had a petting zoo and some activities available, the lack of care in general maintenance was disappointing.

The ranch offers a unique and picturesque experience right on the Colorado River, providing stunning views and a range of fun activities. While we thoroughly enjoyed the adventurous excursions and the beautiful surroundings, the accommodation and service left a bit to be desired. The rooms could use some updating, and there were inconsistencies in service that made our stay less than perfect.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms had a rustic feel but were showing signs of neglect, with dust and cobwebs present. They lacked the luxurious touch that the price suggests, and the noise insulation wasn't great, making it hard to avoid the sounds from neighbors.
Service
5.0
Service was hit or miss—while some staff members were friendly and knowledgeable, there were noticeable delays in service at the bar and around the pool. This detracted from the overall enjoyment during our stay.
Location
10.0
The location is absolutely breathtaking, nestled along the Colorado River with stunning red rock views. It’s perfect for those looking to escape city life and immerse themselves in nature.
Dining
7.0
Dining was generally good, especially breakfast, but some meals felt overpriced for what we received. The overall dining experience could definitely improve in terms of menu variety.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities had great potential, but some areas were poorly maintained. The pool area could use some more attention to cleanliness, and it was disappointing to find limited service available there.

7.0/10

My stay at Sorrel River Ranch was a mixed bag. The location is stunning, nestled along the river, but the accommodations didn't live up to expectations given the price. While the staff was welcoming and activities were fun, the facilities felt outdated and poorly managed. Dining was decent, but I expected more for the cost. Overall, this place shows great potential but needs significant improvements to justify its premium rates.

Rooms
6.0
The cabins felt a bit old and were in need of some TLC. They were spacious but had issues like poor water pressure and damaged woodwork.
Service
8.0
The staff was warm and accommodating, especially Mark, the activities coordinator, who organized fantastic adventures for us.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, right along the river and surrounded by breathtaking red rock scenery. It's a bit far from Moab, but the natural beauty makes up for it.
Dining
7.0
Dining was enjoyable with great food options, although the menu felt a bit lacking in presentation. The slow service was a downside.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities could use a revamp, with the spa being basic and some areas feeling grubby. The resort fees seemed unnecessary for what was offered.
